Whether you are an experienced equestrian or a city slicker who wants to conquer a fear of horses, this program will show you how to establish a partnership with these magnificent animals and create a learning environment where both can be successful. As horse trainer and creator of the Women of the West program Tom Chambers says, " it is only then that a trainer can experience that magic place in time that I call 'Harmony with Horses!'"
The package includes accommodations, local transportation, three meals per day, horses, chaps and five days of instruction and riding. Classes are limited to 8-10 guests and are for women over 18 only. Tanque Verde Ranch does offer a co-ed version of this program called Harmony with Horses. For more information, please visit the Tanque Verde Ranch web site.
Participants fly into Tucson, Arizona and are picked up by the resort shuttle to Tanque Verde Ranch. The day begins with breakfast at 7:00, then horse training class is held until noon. After lunch guests are invited to ride or relax, and dinner is served at 6:00. In the evenings, guests visit around a campfire and are entertained by Tom, who in addition to his horse training talents is also a professional singer and writer of cowboy and western music. He tells some pretty good jokes too!
One day the entire group is treated to a professional massage, Dom Perignon and chocolate-covered strawberries so everyone goes home feeling pampered. This is truly a vacation for those who want to "get away from it all," enjoy nature and see the real Wild West!
